Yesterday, I began my second week of the 5:2 protocol, and I’m already noticing areas where I can fine-tune my approach. On my eating days, I’ve realized that I need to be more intentional—perhaps even shifting my 16:8 fasting routine toward 18:6. But will that shorten my eating window too much?

One challenge is timing. With an 18:6 schedule, can I realistically prepare and enjoy a cooked meal within the allotted time? Cooking from scratch is something I value deeply, so I’m hesitant to sacrifice the quality of my meals for the sake of a tighter schedule.

Alternatively, I’m considering a simpler adjustment: smaller plates. I tend to scoop up most of what I prepare onto my plate—why not let the plate itself help with portion control? It’s a subtle change, but one that could make a big difference in managing intake without overthinking it. Post of week 1, first time ever..
